After 15 Minutes The Adventure Begins

Mexican Liberty Cap Information

CAP: Di-nize’s cap is 3-5mm broad and convex at maturity. The surface is smooth, moist, and the cap is brown to deep orange-brown in colour. It becomes opaque when damaged.

GILLS: This mushie’s gill attachment is adnate to adnexed, and sometimes sinuate. They can be a pale grey to dark brown colour, typically with white fringes, when the spores are mature.

STEM: Stem length can be anywhere from 40mm to 125mm long, and is usually 1-3mm thick. It’s smooth, hollow, and usually a yellow or brown colour that darkens with age.

SPORES: Di-nize’s spores are usually 8-9 microns by 5-7 microns in size. Dark purplish-brown in colour, and ellipsoid to sub-ellipsoid in side view. In face view, they’re sub-rhomboid. The basidia are four-spored.

HABITAT: Mex grows in rich, clay-like soils. He’s often found in meadows and horse pastures too, and thrives in manure-rich soil. He shares a special connection with horse dung, but never grows in it.
